Getpix offers a comprehensive range of photographic courses: Commencing with Beginners Photography Courses for the complete novice, progressing through to Intermediate Photography Courses, where we go out to photograph on location. Specialty courses such as Wedding Photography Courses and Studio Photography Courses are often a natural progression. Many of our students wanting to change careers, return to make their way through a succession of courses.
Our success to rapid progress is achieved with small classes. Our students learn the theory whilst physically applying this in practical situations in genres such as Portraiture Photography, Landscape Photography, Action Photography and After Dark Photography.
Whether you shoot digital or film, use a compact or Digital SLR camera, shoot with Canon, Sony, Nikon, Fuji, Pentax or Kodak; where light & exposure is concerned our 8 highly professional and fun loving instructors are there to guide and assist you in taking better images. Our instructors are not just instructors but photographers in their own capacity.
Our Photoshop courses are practical, hands-on sessions starting right at the beginning. No one wants to read the manual, but everyone wants to understand and just as importantly master this in-depth digital manipulation package..
We keep our classes small, so that you can ask the questions that everyone wants the answer to. Our passion is photography, and without exception, all 8 Getpix instructors are exceedingly patient and handpicked for the job.
Due to the constant requests from our students, we host monthly photographic outings and photographic workshops. You have fun, in safe environments, meeting likeminded people and grow as a photographer. Check out our monthly articles and newsletters with information and images from previous photographic outings, workshops, students, photographic competitions, travel excursions and projects both local and abroad. We also host a monthly photographic club with a ‘‘chilled out’’ Meet ‘n Critique session.
Our Head Office is based in Benoni, Gauteng. Our 2nd office opened in Durbanville, Cape Town in February 2010 and our 3rd branch in Sandton, Johannesburg in March 2010.

So, join us on a course that suits your level of experience or on outings such as: a Buddhist Temple, Raptors, Cheetahs, Aircraft, Graffiti, or simply attend our workshops such as: Building a portfolio, HDR, flash, light meter and remote release, Macro or Black & White. Put the cherry on the cake and join us on our 3 night, self drives to Clarens, Hoedspruit Game Farm, Mageobaskloof or the Drakensburg or alternatively fly with us for 13 nights to Vietnam & Cambodia, Namibia or Egypt in 2010.
These outings and your own personal experiences will no doubt provide you with a host of photographs which you can enter into our Getpix Annual Charity Awards, sponsored by companies such as Canon, Sony and Pix African Journal Magazine.
