Photographers are always wanting to experience new places .Travelling with like-minded people (photographers), ensures we all want the same out of our trip.
Each tour is hand picked, going to all the right places and seeing all the interesting 'bucket -list' and definitely more off the beaten track places, with loads of variety in what to photograph. Our tours are a maximum of 12 travelers. We keep our photographic tour group small, safe and satisfied. We always use a reliable, airconditioned vehicle. The bedrooms always give a good night's rest on a firm bed (no humps and bumps thank you) with bathrooms en-suite (unless we are invited to a homestay). You can double up sleeping with a friend or have single occupancy (which costs a little more). Our tour guide is advised well before the time, that we want to shoot during good light. They are always waiting for us in the morning as we stumble out of our accommodation. We eat well, laugh a lot and take loads of good quality images. Of course, I am always there to guide and assist you if you have a question, i.e. photographic composition, which lens to use, star trails, time lapse etc. We respect you and leave you alone if you want to go off on your own to explore and photograph.

India
What an amazing experience this trip was from start to finish. Paula had done so much research and the trip was so well planned that we managed to see all the important highlights plus much more. Daily we experienced the unique energy of India from abject poverty to astounding opulence. The street photography was amazing and I will always admire Paula’s way with children, adults and the elderly. She is a very kind and respectful person and people who do not know her recognise this immediately. Everyone in India loved having their photo taken and I took about 3500 photos and still love browsing through those images and also seeing photos of the amazing Tour Group and the fun times we all had. In my Memory Bank forever will be our visit to the Taj Mahal at 5h00 in the morning with the pinkish shimmer of the rising sun on the marble walls and the opportunity to take photos with a minimum of crowds. It was my first trip to the East and I will definitely go back with Paula as tour guide anytime. - MARIA GOUGH
Kaapse Hoop
The trip to Kaapse Hoop and the trip back visiting all the little towns along the way was a part of this wonderful experience. Kaapse Hoop is beautiful with all these little corrugated iron houses, some with pumpkins on the roof, gorgeous flowers and a lovely church.
There were interesting market stalls and wonderful restaurants. I personally loved photographing in the Pine Forest and under Paula’s expert guidance I was exposed to ICM Photography for the first time (Intentional Camera Movement) taking beautiful swirling photos of the Pine Trees against the sky. These are still some of my favourite photos. Then excitement of chasing the beautiful herds of Kaapse Hoop Wild Horses to take photos of them on the hill and against the skyline. Some of the stunning horses were so tame that they walked around the village unperturbed by the visitors. We also visited the nearby Train Depot to take photos undisturbed of some wonderful old trains. The trip was very well organised, the people were all absolutely amazing and Paula is the perfect Tour Leader. - MARIA GOUGH
Our trip to India was amazing - a group of women joined by a shared delight in travel and photography.... enthusiasm by all for early morning rising to catch the sunrise on the Ganges....the Taj Mahal in the early hours - the guide always ready to take us around the corner, over the road, just a little bit further to get a different view - I loved it!
Paula has a wonderful way with folk, so when you're out and about, on the streets, on a bicycle - people are willing and happy to engage - not my strong point, so I was grateful for the path laid before me! We took trains, and boats and planes and buses and bikes - we ate on the street and in restaurants - hotel rooms were rearranged when they were not up to scratch - and photography advice was also on hand - adjust this, change that - a wonderful time.
India has always been on my travel list and to do it with Paula and the group she put together was sheer delight. We crossed the north west of the massive country, saw the highlights and the street life - lit candles at festivals and watched burials from boats on the river - cameras clicking furiously - the camaraderie buoying us up in the wee hours and late at night.
Anytime I can go again - I'm in! - CLAIRE DEMBLON - UK
Afrikaburn
Paula is the friend that everyone should have as she is always planning another adventure and life is too short to not participate. I had never heard of Afrikaburn until Paula started telling me about it. After months of research and planning by Paula we went to a desolate place in the Karoo where the most amazing magical event happens annually (sadly not during COVID.) Afrikaburn is a place filled with love and caring about the planet we live in. It is a marvellous five day, 24/7, dress up party, frequented by young and old creatives who love dressing up beautifully and love having their photos taken. Absolutely everyone including us gets dressed up in beautiful outlandish outfits every day and at night many of the outfits are lit up. I cannot explain the vastness of the area and the huge number of people who attend and visit fun stalls where no money may change hands and absolutely no commercialism is allowed. There was music, there were decorated bicycles and crazy vehicles and people offering you a gift such as fruit or garlands of flowers. The most amazingly beautifully created sculptures, some which would be burned at night representing the fleetingness of life, hence the name Afrikaburn. This is right up there as one of my best experiences ever, appealing to absolutely all the senses, a place of love and unity as a group of people who care about the world that we live in. Thank you Paula for all your research and planning that made this trip so very special. Thank you for being the incredible open minded person that you are and thank you for adding colour to so many of our lives. - MARIA GOUGH
