WORKSHOPS

1,2 or 3 part workshops to show you how it is done.

I have taught photography, Photoshop and Lightroom for 13 years. I love teaching - and watching people grow as they come to grips with their camera.

Truly - any camera is just perfect. Whether you have an easy to hold point 'n shoot (Muk 'n Druk), bridge camera (the lens doesn't come off the body of the camera), a DSLR or a mirrorless camera, it is not so much about the camera, as it is about the person pressing the shutter button.

More and more hobbyist and amateur photographers ask for private 1 on 1 training. One or two hours, focusing solely on what you want to learn, is highly beneficial. Attending Online or in a classroom with other students is another great way of learning, but most people prefer individual attention.

How do you get started?

I teach you how to shoot on (M) Manual. It is so easy. Once you understand ISO, Aperture and Shutter Speed, you will wish you had learnt how to shoot on Manual sooner. I ALWAYS follow your theory lesson with you picking up your camera and shooting what we have just learnt.

You can book a lesson on any day or time - weekdays or weekends. Once you have mastered the basics, we go out and REALLY practise - at locations which are close by: at stables, nurseries, lakes and at other photographically stimulating , safe venues.

Currently I am privately teaching Johan ( 64), Liam (21), 2 friends Amanda (61), Sanet (65) and Kaitlyn (20) and Joshua (9). Each person is at a different level in their photography. 1 of my current students, is studying at an Online Course with another college, but she requires practical assistance to put into practise what she is learning theoretically. She also requires assistance understanding her projects that need to be submitted.

Another student wants to become an estate agent photographer. After he has finished learning the basics, we will be photographing houses and offices -inside and out, daytime and during low light, when the lights come on. He will always use his tripod producing extra sharp, crisp images using ISO 100.

COVID - We always take your temperature, wear masks and sanitize regularly.

So proud of Josh. He has been telling us how he wants to become an animal photographer and work for National Geographic, so for Christmas we got him a beginners photography course. Today he had his first lesson. 2 and a half hours and he absolutely loved it! Getpix Photography, thank you Paula.

Paula is amazing and very helpful, I never knew how to operate my camera when I first started, she has taught me so much. The photo shoot outing to Rietvlei was loads of fun and we managed to get some really awesome photos. Looking forward to the Kaapschehoop tour in July to photograph the wild horses in the misty forests. Thanks Paula it's going to be awesome!

Dear Paula,

I sincerely appreciate all the support you have given all your students and Nkateko in particular. You were awesome and have definitely left an indelible mark in the Nkateko’s mind and ours.

Your professionalism has stood up and at no point did I feel you were giving up on your students and that is greatly appreciated.

Remember you play a critical community development role and I want to tell you that you have the right attitude and all the requisite credentials to execute on your calling.

Hi Paula,

Thank you for the Photography Course so far, I did not understand the Exposure Triangle settings until I got onto your course, I became much more confident in taking photos, Thank you for teaching me how to use Manual, I never had an idea that I would be able to use manual, it is so exciting.

I am looking forward what I can still learn from your courses.

Hi Paula

Thank you for the feedback.

David is loving it .. I haven’t seen him this excited for anything.

His words “you are amazing and I am loving it” he is already convincing me for other courses.

Last night he showed me what he learnt and the photos. And he has already phoned me today to tell me what he did for the day .

All that I can say is thank you.

Hello Paula,

Thank you so much for your critique, I love the way you give such useful feedback. I am going to go back and look at the photos again with your critique in mind – will especially check the post processing for the grey skin…

Morning Paula

Thank you so much for all your feedback. I will definitely keep at it and experiment more with my flash and night time photography.

Thank you once again for a great course, I really learnt a lot!

Kind regards

Hello Paula,

You know, that without lecturers of your calibre, we all would certainly not learn as much.

So, thank you again for your participation, we would have been the poorer without you being there.

Regards,

Mo
