We did the Silk Road - in Style!
I adore travelling with like minded people.
What an unforgettable 14 days we had in September 2025. 10 photographers booked and travelled through Uzbekistan and Tajikistan with GETPIX Photography, capturing the sights, sounds, colours, and character of these remarkable Silk Road nations.
From sunrise to sunset, our cameras and bags were ONE with our bodies — whether it was the tiled blue domes of Samarkand, the winding streets of Bukhara, or winding dusty roads up pass in Tajikistan. Every moment offered us a new story to frame, a new angle to discover, and so much laughter along the way.
The group bonded beautifully — ten travellers with a shared passion for photography, friendship, and exploration. After full days of shooting, we returned to welcoming hotels with crisp white sheets, firm mattresses, and blissfully large showers (exactly what every photographer dreams of after a dusty day on the road!).
Our private 30-seater coach gave us plenty of space to stretch out, and our local guides and drivers were nothing short of fantastic — knowledgeable, safe, and full of heart.
This video is a behind-the-scenes glimpse of our photographers in action. No posed shots here — just pure enthusiasm, creativity, and the joy of doing what we love most: discovering the world through our lenses. These fun cell phone and camera shots, are "On the Go" images and were captured by Ann, Bets, Claire, John, Hilary, Noma, Rung, Sally, Viv and myself.
Where do you want to travel in 2026? After plenty hours of research we are excited to offer Morocco, Kgalagadi, Japan and again Uzbekistan & Tajikistan with a twist! Let us know if one of these tours whets your appetite. We keep the group small and friendly for anyone who wants to travel and take photographs. Most of the photographs in this video were taken with our cell phones.
