Picture this:
Wildlife Module – we take you to the Lion and Rhino Park and Rietvlei Nature Reserve.
Students, armed with cameras, venture into the heart of nature's theatre with their instructor. Nearby, a solid, dusty rhino shuffles across the landscape, framed against a canvas of clear blue (f/16) sky. You photograph it.
Hidden in the grass, a majestic lion watches us. You photograph it. It moves to drink. We follow it. You photograph it.
As a student photographer, we take you to where the action is. Let your lens unravel the narrative, igniting a passion for the captivating world that exists beyond our studio.
GETPIX Photography- 9-month course develops highly skilled professionals in the photographic industry. Our course has specifically been developed to provide vocational skills and qualifications required to make it in the industry. In addition, where possible, we recommend our students to others within the field that are requiring additional staff.
Theory training is held at our photographic studio in Benoni, South Africa. Practical training is held at a variety of relevant based venues across Gauteng. Days are spent learning your camera, which will become your best friend, as well as the very important, easy to understand theory, studying, going out on location to practise all types of photography, learning new skills and putting knowledge into practice. Train with expert and award-winning instructors as you learn wildlife, portrait, baby, studio, architectural, wedding (where all the $$$ are made) black and white, nature, still life, product and so many more genres of photography.
The practical experience allows you to come to grips with your camera and to know which buttons and dials to use under different genres of photography. The all important, How to Manage your Business module, ensures you understand how to confidently quote and how not to undercut the industry. You create your own invoicing templates, business card, and oh yes, I almost forgot, your company identity, name and branding.
Of course, a module on Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom editing is included, to convert your great image into perfection.
No photographer would be complete without setting up Business Social Media Facebook and Instagram. You will be posting your images and offering your services before you know it.
Your goal as a photographer
This will be to either work for yourself or secure a permanent position working for a photographic organization around the globe.
Remember - Photography is global.

Accreditation/Certificate/Proof in Print
GETPIX Photography opened in 2007. That is 16 years of, in excess of, 1700 super students.
We do not form part of any SETA compliance and we do not offer any financial bursary. At the end of your course, you will have created, and have printed, a legacy of your images, taken during your course, across all modules. This is in the form of a hard cover A4, photographic book. This is a testament to the quality of your work across multiple genres of photography and what you can offer your future clientele.
Why do you do this? A certificate (which you obviously will receive on completion of all modules) is just that, a certificate. When your clients ask for your photographic services- what will they always ask? To see your portfolio of your images. They want to ensure that you have the practical experience. It just makes sense.

You may want to call some of our past students (who currently run their own photographic business) to find out how they enjoyed GETPIX Photography Course. Parents are most welcome to call past students’ parents- we will gladly prove to you, what makes us, who we are.

How are you Paula?
So I'm very excited to hear from JSE today that iv got a 6 months contract with them for all there events. The meeting with the manager and director of marketing went very well and funny enough I wasn't so nervous. Yes, I dressed formal which was out of my comfort zone but I think it made a good impression on them.
I wrote up a quote for the shoot they want next week for 30 workers including management and they replied with the go - ahead. I gave them many options of what I can do during the meeting and they seemed happy with the concept. The manager also told me the reason why there are not using *** anymore, apparently he charged R2900 for 3 photos per person. They also showed me photos they had paid him for and the quality was very bad and they only received the photos after 1 month.
I just wanted to thank you for helping me and giving me advice, it really helped me a lot.

The wedding was hectic like we expected. The thing I am so grateful for learning( on our wedding course ) was not to promise anything and if the bride is late then so be it...and so we did well with that. Our bride was really running late with her make-up and hair and we had no time for her before photos, but we had no choice, we had to move...made do!!! It is a fast moving day for sure once the service starts and not much time for fiddling...
